ABOUT ME
I have been fascinated by clay for 30 years. At first it was just a hobby alongside teaching art education, but for the last 15 years it has been my freelance activity. Throughout these years I have accumulated professional knowledge, experience and design skills through practice, and I have also searched for and developed my own expressive style. The magic of transforming a lump of raw clay into the final sophistication of a glazed product continues to amaze and inspire me for new creations…
My ceramic is hand made, I do all the work by myself. Mostly with clay slabs, larger pots with clay coils and cups on pottery wheel. Every item goes through process of designing, shaping, drying, sanding, bisque firing, glazing and second firing between 1050°and 1230°. Every item is made with great care and it is unique. I design tableware ceramics like cups, bowls, plates, spoons, with lids as well as decorative designes like bells, pendants, ceramic jewellery, large vases for home decoration …
I find inspiration for my products in nature, in shapes and colour harmonies, as well as in bird and leaves motifs, twigs, symbols and ornaments, textures and surface patinas. This gives my products an air of cosiness, warmth and naturalness and therefore attracts people who appreciate or long for these values…
For those who want to learn clay design, I offer a basic course and a pottery wheel course on a one-to-one basis. More information on the Courses page. Due to my work break of a few years, my stock of products is almost exhausted, so this year I intend to make small collections of products again, as well as new unique pieces. I will be posting new products on the News blog page. You can see and buy my products in my studio or in one of the tourist shops I am currently working with: the Etno Galerija in Bohinjska Bistrica, the Galerija Blejski otok in Bled, the TIC in Novo mesto and the shop in Balnea spa in Dolenjske toplice.
